* 2010 – The 2010 Venezuela earthquake was a 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred on Friday, 15 January, at 18:00:48 UTC, at a depth of with epicenter located at 10.421°N, 63.495°W in the Sucre state, southwest of Güiria and west of the town of Carúpano, Venezuela. The region is on heightened alert due to the 2010 Haiti earthquake and though damage was minor there was extensive news coverage.
* 2009 – The 2009 Venezuela earthquake was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred on 12 September 2009 at 20:06:25 UTC, injuring at least 14 people and damaging many buildings. The epicenter of the quake was 65 miles west of the capital, Caracas.
* 1997 Cariaco earthquake – A magnitude 6.9 earthquake located near the small town of Cariaco in northern Venezuela on 9 July kills 81 people.〔(Significant Earthquakes of the World 1997 ) ''USGS''〕
* 1967 Caracas earthquake – On 29 July 1967 a 6.5 magnitude earthquake centered near the coast about 30 miles west of Caracas killed 240 and left hundreds injured. Over $100 million property damage was incurred in the Caracas area and about 80,000 persons were left homeless.
*1894 Mérida earthquake – In April 28, a Richter scale 7.0 magunitude suffer the Venezuelan Andes called "Great Earthquake De los Andes" at 22.15 local time, shattered Santa Cruz de Mora, Zea, Mérida, Tovar, Mesa Bolivar, Lagunillas, Chiguará and other areas. There were a total of 319 victims and many injured.
*1875 Cúcuta earthquake – The Earthquake of Cúcuta also known as Earthquake of the Andes was an earthquake that occurred on 18 May 1875 at 11:15 am. It completely demolished Cúcuta, Villa del Rosario (Colombia), San Antonio del Tachira and Capacho (Venezuela). The earthquake killed many Venezuelans in San Cristóbal, La Mulata, Rubio, Michelena, La Grita, Colón, amongst others, and was felt in both Bogotá and Caracas.
*1812 Caracas earthquake – On 26 March 1812, Maundy Thursday at 4:37 pm an earthquake measured 7.7 on the Richter magnitude scale. It caused extensive damage in Caracas, La Guaira, Barquisimeto, San Felipe, and Mérida. An estimated 15,000–20,000 people perished as a result, in addition to incalculable material damage.
*1641 Caracas earthquake - 11 June 1641, at 8:30 Venezuela's territory suffers another blow of nature, this time in Caracas and its surroundings as the city in Cua and were estimated between 300 and 500 victims of the earthquake
